Red Cedar Kids

Children and families are an important part of the church community and we seek to serve to them on Sunday mornings through:

    Child Care

    Junior Church

    Christian Education

Sunday Morning Child Care

To allow parents to more fully participate in Christian Education and the Worship Service, we offer child care Sunday mornings for infants–3 year olds. Our child care is located in the church’s lower level.

9:30–10:30 AM for infants–2-year-olds

2-year-olds are invited to join the Preschool Christian Education Class.

10:30 AM–noon for infants–3-year-olds

Junior Church, Sundays 11:15 AM–noon

For 4-6 year olds, we offer a junior church program during the sermon portion of the worship service. In this small group setting, we have a Bible story with related hands-on activities and crafts. The curriculum is Bible-based and very activity-orientated to keep the kids moving and explaining the same principle in various ways.

Christian Education, Sundays 9:30–10:30 AM

Our children’s Sunday School classes (Preschool through Junior High School) meet 9:30–10:30 AM in the church’s lower level.

Our classes are small and personal as well as flexible and responsive. We strive for Biblically-accurate lessons with active hands-on learning.

We believe children are an important part of the church community and so we work to find ways to involve children in the broader community.

Family Events

About once a month, we have an event for families. In the past we have gone sledding, apple picking and visited the MSU bug house. It is a great time for families to build relationships and encourage each other.

Child/Worker Protection Policy

We seek to provide a safe and secure environment for the children and youth who participate in our programs and activities.

Policy Highlights

• Careful Selection of workers including interviews and background checks

• Team Teaching

• “Open Doors”: parents are always welcome to peek-in or visit our classrooms and nursery

By implementing these practices, our goal is to protect the children and youth involved in our programs from incidents of misconduct or inappropriate behavior while also protecting our staff and volunteers from false accusations.
