Grow + Serve
“If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel’s will save it.”
–Jesus Christ (Mark 8:34-35)

Being around the church ought to be like being around Jesus: our consumerism (i.e. the desire to be served) should be constantly challenged. The more we believe in Christ, the more we turn from ourselves–lose our life in love and service to others in the church–the more we experience real life. And likewise, the more we are turned outwards in mission to those outside the boundaries of real life.
Our ministries, training opportunities, small groups, and mission opportunities are the on-ramps to finding life through self-denial.
